On the hunt for an affordable dive watch? I’m here to help, no matter what your budget may be!
People’s definition of an affordable watch varies quite a bit, depending on whether you’re an eccentric watch collector ($2000!? Too cheap!) or a struggling college student trying to buy their first ‘real’ watch ($40? Anything cheaper?).

Personally, I consider anything under $200 ‘affordable’, but I’m going to include my favorite watches that are under $500 here, for those with a bit more spending money.
The list below is basically a summary of my other lower-end price guides, so be sure to check those out as well (links further down) for more detail on each of these watches.
My top pick for each budget range?
- Best automatic for $500 or less – Seiko SRP777 ‘Turtle’
- Best quartz for $500 or less – Christopher Ward C60 Trident 300
- Best automatic for $200 or less – Seiko SKX series or Orient Mako II
- Best quartz for $200 or less – Citizen Promaster Diver BN0151-09L
