Orient Watch seems to have stealthily released a new series of dive watches, and they’re absolutely gorgeous.
The new FAC0900XX series watches have quite a different design than previous Orient dive watches such as the Mako or Ray. Most similar to the Mako USA to my eye, the bezel and case are both significantly differently shaped.
I only came across these due to a image post to the Diver’s Watches Facebook group. The only information I’ve come across so far has been from listings on Serious Watches, a Netherlands based online retailer.
Update for non-European buyers: these are now getting listed on eBay for a very, very reasonable price:
I’ve seen 3 different variations so far: The FAC09004D with blue dial, the FAC09003B with black dial, and the FAC09002T with a dark gold dial.
The most notable thing about these divers is their size. Coming in at a whopping 46mm case diameter, they’re even a bit larger than the Mako XL. Probably too big for my wrist, even though I love the look of these.
The other news-worthy feature is the inclusion of Orients new F67 caliber automatic movement. This new movement features both hacking-seconds and the ability to hand-wind.
So if you’re a fan of big divers, the new Orient FAC0900XX series are worth checking out over at Serious Watches, or you can:
